Description: This project involves demolishing the existing Pedestrian bridge over the Northwest Branch Anacostia and replacing the bridge with a new bridge to the west of the existing bridge. The proposed Pedestrian bridge will be a replacement that is perpendicular to the stream on a riffle. The existing orientation is an angle to the direction of flow as such there a substantial instability of the stream around the bridge. The new orientation will improve stability and flow conveyance. A new paved trail is also proposed in the park to access the new pedestrian bridge.
