Stiver Engineering provided construction enigneering by designing the shoring system for the excavation beneath 12th Street on the UTMB Campus in Galveston, Texas. The shoring system was designed using cantilevered soldier piles in the sandy soils by pinning the base of the soldier piles with a timber member or steel pipe cross strut.
