The work consists of providing the necessary

labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and plant to construct the

Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion to 1.85 MGD for the Northampton Municipal

Utility District in Harris County, Texas. The work includes rehabilitation, improvements,

expansion, and construction at the two facilities that comprise the

wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). WWTP No. 1: The work at WWTP No. 1 includes,

but is not limited to: expansion of Lift Station No. 2 to increase the firm pumping

capacity of the two lift stations to 5,139 gpm peak two hour flow; expansion of the

headworks to increase the treatment capacity to 5,139 gpm peak two hour flow;

rehabilitation of the existing aeration diffuser systems; replacement of the clarifier

mechanism at Clarifier No. 1; rehabilitation of Scum Pump Station No. 1; construction of

submersible RAS/WAS Pump Station No. 1 with chopper pumps; construction of grating

at the Clarifier No. 2 launder trough box; rehabilitation of Scum Pump Station No. 2;

pump replacement and rehabilitation of RAS/WAS Pump Station No. 2; rehabilitation of

the chlorine contact basin and effluent pump station; rehabilitation of the sludge holding

tanks including modifications to the existing decant mechanism; improvements to the

existing chemical system including expansion of the sodium bisulfite chemical system to

treat up to 5,139 gpm peak two hour flow and ventilation improvements for the storage

and feed room; construction of a dechlorination basin with a submersible mixer;

replacement of the blowers with four centrifugal blowers, elevated three feet above the

0.2% annual chance floodplain; rehabilitation of the control building; modifications to

existing yard piping, including construction of a new outfall and sampling location;

protective coatings; and all associated power, instrumentation, plant PLC monitoring,

controls, and programming. This project also includes the installation and field testing of

a 600kW diesel generator elevated three feet above the current 0.2% annual chance

floodplain. WWTP No. 2: The work at WWTP No. 2 includes, but is not limited to:

improvements and expansion of the influent basins; construction of an aeration basin to

increase the aeration treatment capacity of WWTP No. 2 to 0.90 MGD ADF;

rehabilitation and improvements for the existing aeration basin; construction of a 45-foot diameter spiral blade secondary clarifier and submersible scum pump station with

chopper pumps to increase the clarifier treatment capacity of WWTP No. 2 to 2,500 gpm

peak two hour flow; rehabilitation of the existing secondary clarifier and scum pump

station; construction of a chlorine contact basin to increase the

disinfection treatment capacity of WWTP No. 2 to 2,500 gpm peak two hour flow;

rehabilitation and improvements for the existing chlorine contact basin; replacement of

the post-aeration system; improvements to the flow measurement channel to increase

flow measurement capacity; construction of two digesters to increase

the treatment capacity of WWTP No. 2 to 0.90 MGD ADF; rehabilitation to

improvements for the existing digesters, including modifications to the existing decant

mechanism and flow metering systems; replacement of the three positive displacement

blowers, elevated three feet above the 0.2% annual chance floodplain, to increase the air

delivery required by the expanded facility; replacement of the sodium hypochlorite

chemical system to treat up to 2,500 gpm peak two hour flow; construction of a non-potable

water pump station with self-priming pumps; rehabilitation and improvements to

the existing 500 kW diesel generator; modifications to existing yard piping; protective

coatings; and all associated power, instrumentation, plant PLC monitoring, controls, and

programming. This project also includes modifications to floodproof the existing controls

building
