Description: Through this Request for Proposals, the City of Merritt invites Proposals from engineering firms experienced in water infrastructure design and construction, to perform design, engineering and related services for the City’s project to replace a minimum of 50m of watermain across the Nicola River within Merritt, British Columbia. The existing watermain is suspended on a utility bridge which is failing. The new installation could include a replacement of the pipe and utility bridge or the watermain replacement could be conducted by directional drilling including removal of the existing bridge. If the overall project budget allows, more of the watermain could be replaced. The watermain which is under consideration for replacement extends from Quilchena Avenue up to the Nicola reservoir (approximately 450m in total length including the river crossing length).
