Quitman 78 Inch Emergency Project

In response to a critical infrastructure failure, the City of Houston addressed emergency repairs for a collapsed 78-inch diameter sewer in the Quitman/US 69 area of east Houston. This urgent project aimed to secure public safety and restore sewer functionality following a significant cave-in caused by compromised pipe joints. Harper Brothers Construction (HBC) was selected to lead the project, beginning with a comprehensive investigation and developing a construction plan sealed by a licensed professional engineer. The scope included traffic control, sewer bypass, utility coordination, and pavement repair.
