The Marine Creek Interceptor Improvements project upgraded critical wastewater infrastructure in the vicinity of Marine Creek Lake. The project required construction in and around an active recreational and environmentally sensitive area while maintaining the functionality of the wastewater system and minimizing impacts to the surrounding environment. The overall improvements included new wastewater piping and inverted siphon infrastructure installed in challenging subsurface and aquatic conditions.
Stiver Engineering provided specialty structural and trench safety engineering services in support of construction.
Trench Safety Design
Stiver Engineering developed a trench safety plan for excavations associated with installation of the wastewater infrastructure. The design addressed project-specific excavation conditions and construction requirements to support safe and efficient below-grade operations.
Precast Manhole Structural Design
Stiver Engineering provided structural engineering for a precast manhole associated with the interceptor improvements. The structure was evaluated for applicable loading and site conditions to support its safe installation and long-term performance.
