Alliance Regional Water Authority Phase 1B Segment E

Stiver Engineering was engaged in the design and support of the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) operations for a critical crossing beneath Lake Dunlap as part of the Alliance Regional Water Authority Phase 1B Segment E project. Our scope included the HDD design for a 37.5-inch OD steel casing, ensuring precise alignment and stability during installation. In addition to HDD calculations, we conducted a thorough analysis of the slurry used during tunneling to optimize performance and minimize risks.

We provided a comprehensive support plan for the casing pipe throughout the HDD process, contributing to the overall project safety and efficiency. Our team also developed trench safety design and designed steel casings for other tunnel crossings in the project. To address buoyancy concerns, we performed detailed calculations to ensure the carrier pipe would remain stable when the annulus was grouted and confirmed that the spacers could withstand potential uplift loads in ungrouted sections, ensuring the long-term integrity of the pipeline system.
